Those who hate IE must read this and go for the fox. I have used IE for a long time up to 2004, when Firefox first started to appear, i downloaded it and tried it, i thought it was amazing, no errors, web pages displayed correctly, all sorts of minor things that really can be annoying were all gone when using Firefox, plus i have had lots of problems when using IE, for example, it hangs quite often while browsing, giving that annoying box:
"IE has encountered a problem and needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft about this problem"
I am a computer technician, and trying to fix this problem for pro IE customers who don't want Firefox is costly, in worst cases, i have had to reinstall windows, because IE is integrated, and reinstalling or attempting to repair it fails, forget the knowledge base for IE, there is so many causes for the same problems it is a headache to fix.
Not to mention how it lets those horrible active x controls install, letting all that nasty spy ware etc get on your PC.
Other problems i have had are:
- Sites using Flash don't load properly
- Https sites not loading
- and more.....
Netscape was OK, but went downhill, and i ended up using IE, which was the worst thing, i never bothered to use Mozilla, as i thought it was too much like Netscape at the time, so i never used it, however, it was much better than Netscape, and now Firefox is even better, and is getting better all the time.
I am not here to tell anyone that you must use Firefox, but i want to educate people to know there are alternative browsers that are better than IE, the choice is up to you.
